Rides catering to all skill levels and focuses are available so check out the calendar to find the ones for you!

Offered at low cost to help grow our sport with FTW shredders, be sure to get your tickets early before they sell out!

Our advanced group rides take place across the metro and are focused on working on some of the advanced features our trails have to offer! Our advanced group rides are an opportunity to work on skills you are familiar with. There will be plenty of time to discuss features on the trail, but this ride will not be led by coaches.

So you took fundamental skills 1, now what? Or you've been riding for sometime but haven't had any skills coaching? This is the clinic for you!

Learn intermediate skills from our BICP certified coaches and finish up with a short group ride to test your new skills! Each session will have a skills focus and will be announced prior to registration. These may include: riding straight lines, corners, climbing and descending techniques, wheel lifts and more!

Buddy Ride (Small Group Rides)

Buddy Group Rides are new to this season! Buddy Rides will be a smaller group format (think 2-3 people per group ride leader). This Buddy Ride will take place at Theo and will be focused on riders at a beginner level that would like some more one on one experience. Because, of the nature of these rides, we’ll have limited capacity and will be charging a $5 fee*.

  • Fees associated with group rides and clinics go directly back into the operation of MWDL. MWDL is completely volunteer run and funded by these fees. If cost is ever a barrier, please contact us and we will work with you. We want every to be able to ride.

New to our 2024 offerings, we’ll have a couple destination group rides! Join us for an exhilarating group ride through the captivating terrain of Cuyuna. Whether you're a beginner looking to hone your skills or a seasoned rider seeking new challenges, this inclusive journey welcomes all. Gather with us at the Rally Center at 11 am for a brief meet-and-greet before we kick off our adventure at noon. Let's roll together up North!

Travel and accommodations will be up to each attendee. From the Twin Cities it’s about a 2 hour and 15 minute drive. Folks are more than welcome to come up the night prior and camp or find a hotel.

This is a no drop ride so plan for plenty of time to stop and chat, scope out features, and generally bring the stoke!

This ride is for ABC (anyone by cis-men).

Dirt Church 2024

We’ll be heading back up north for our 3rd annual Dirt Church! Come out and set up camp with us. MWDL’s mission is to create riding environments for marginalized genders, so this weekend is specifically centered on anyone but cis-men. See below for a light schedule to the weekend. A more formal schedule to be announced closer to the event date. Reduced price tickets are available for BIPOC riders.

Schedule:

Friday: Arrive at Bibawik Campground/Set Up Camp
Saturday: Group Rides at Redhead Trail System
Sunday: Downhill Riding at Giant’s Ridge

*Due to the downhill riding on Sunday, we suggest riders are comfortable with blue-rated trails in the metro area.

Endurance Group Ride: Cross Country

Open Group Ride: All skill levels are invited that are ready to tackle longer rides. We will break up the groups as necessary so we all have a fun ride.

This will be a 25-30 mile ride doing multiple laps at Monarch. Working on endurance will build your strength and balance as a rider. We will focus on maintaining a steady pace and will stop for short breaks to refuel. Refueling is so important to maintaining energy while on longer rides. Please come prepared with nutritional water. There is a water fountain at the trailhead. We will have a bike tool kit but we recommend bringing your own just in case.

If people are hungry and want to continue to hang out after the ride, Buddy Boy Fine Barbeque is just 6 minutes from the trailhead!

Endurance Group Ride: Climbing

Intermediate Group Ride: intermediate skills are necessary for this longer and more technical ride. We will break up the groups as necessary so we all have a fun ride.

This will be an 18-20 mile ride doing multiple laps at Battle Creek. Climbing a hill is not the funest part of mountain biking. But you have to a climb hill to go down, right? The focus of this ride is to build strength and focus on breathing so we can feel strong while climbing hills and have even more fun while going down them. We will stop to take short breaks to catch our breath and refuel. Refueling is so important to maintaining energy while on longer and challenging rides. Please come prepared with nutrition and water. We will have a bike tool kit but we recommend bringing your own just in case.
